As we move into the second half of September, we are starting to see the subtle signs of a Southwest Florida autumn: slightly cooler morning breezes, the return of our seasonal local farmers’ markets, and the gradual return of our northern neighbors and friends. Here is everything you need to know to stay informed, prepared, and connected over the next month in our community.
President & Board Message: Mid-Year Progress & Pre-Season Outlook. As we prepare for the busier autumn and winter months, the Board and Management team have been hard at work maintaining our common grounds, updating facilities, and reviewing community contracts. We want to thank everyone who has attended our recent open meetings and offered constructive feedback. The 2027 budget is underway and will be reviewed at an upcoming board meeting. Keep an eye on board meeting agendas for the exact months. Vendor & Gate Reminders: With many residents scheduling home updates, pressure washing, or exterior repairs ahead of winter, please remind your contractors that vendor access hours are restricted to normal working hours. All contractor vehicles must park on driveways or designated parking areas—parking on grass or blocking access roads is strictly prohibited.
Weather & Property Maintenance: Peak Hurricane Season: Final Stretch. Statistical peak activity for Atlantic hurricane season runs right through late September and early October. While we hope for calm skies, preparation is key. Restock battery reserves, non-perishable food, flashlights, and essential medications. Check your yard and lanai area. Ensure trees or heavy branches near your structure are trimmed. In the event of an incoming named storm, remember to bring indoors all loose outdoor items—including potted plants, patio chairs, wall decorations, and lawn ornaments—to prevent windborne hazards. Rainy Season Wind-Down & Mosquito Control: Late-summer downpours are starting to taper off. Please take a moment to inspect your patio, gutters, and garden beds for standing water. Emptying saucers under flowerpots every few days goes a long way toward keeping our neighborhood mosquito-free.
Preparing for Our Returning Seasonal Residents. To our neighbors returning from up north over the coming weeks—welcome back! A quick checklist to ensure a smooth arrival: Inspect your main water shut-off valves before turning home water lines back on full force, and carefully inspect screened lanais for any storm or sun wear before opening them back up. Early autumn is an ideal window for Zone 10 planting! Fall is prime time for herbs and hearty perennials as the extreme summer heat relaxes.
Community Events & Local Living: Upcoming Fall & Halloween Socials. Mark your calendars! We are planning seasonal activities, please check the community calendar in this newsletter for details. Please drive with extra caution throughout the community during these events and on Halloween evening. Local SWFL Outings: Looking to enjoy the season around town? Local farmers’ markets in Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and Naples begin opening their seasonal weekend stands in October. Sea turtle nesting season officially wraps up on October 31.
Pool Area Revamp Underway. We are excited to share that a major enhancement project is in progress at our community pools! Over the next few months, all three neighborhood pools will be fully resurfaced to ensure a fresh, pristine look and feel. Alongside the resurfacing, we are repainting the pool decks, replacing patio furniture with brand-new seating, installing updated trash receptacles and improved lighting throughout the amenities area. This comprehensive refresh will bring a clean, updated aesthetic to our community spaces—just in time for everyone to enjoy as the autumn weather cools down.
